What is PMAY yojana

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was launched on 25 June 2015. The main objective of this scheme is to provide houses for all to live by the year 2022. The scheme is being implemented with the participation of States/Union Territories (UTs) and Central Nodal Agencies To provide houses to all eligible families/beneficiaries against the valid demand of houses of about 1.12 crores. As per the PMAY(U) guidelines, the size of a house for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) can be up to 30 square metres. Carpet area, however, the States/UTs have the flexibility to increase the size of the houses in consultation and approval of the Ministry.The main objective of this scheme is to provide affordable housing to the economically weaker and low income groups. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has two parts A Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which aims to build toilets and community toilets so that open toilets can be worked on.

Criteria for applying for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: The government uses the 2011 Socio-Economic and Caste Census to determine who will benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.   • The interest rate subsidy, on the other hand, varies according to income brackets.
  • Up to Rs 6 lakh per year – A credit-linked subsidy of 6.5% will be available for loan amounts up to Rs 6 lakh.
  • Up to Rs 12 lakh per annum – People earning up to Rs 12 lakh per annum will receive a 4% interest subsidy on a Rs 9 lakh loan.
  • Up to Rs 18 lakh per annum – People earning up to Rs 18 lakh per annum will receive a 3% subsidy on their rent. a loan in the amount of Rs 12 lakh
  • Any additional loans made in excess of the subsidised loan amount will be at a non-subsidised interest rate.
  • Differently abled and senior citizens can get the preference of having a house on the ground floor under the PMAY scheme.
  • Houses will be built using environmentally friendly and sustainable technologies.
The PMAY benefits are available if you want to buy a new house from the developer or builder, as well as if you want to buy a resale house. You can even take out a loan to build a house. Furthermore, under the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) component, PMAY can be used to upgrade a ‘kutcha’ house to a ‘pucca’ house. Step 5: The applicant must proceed to enter all relevant information on this page, including income information, personal information, bank account information, and any other necessary information. Step 6: Before submitting their application, applicants should double-check all of their information. Step 7: When a user clicks the’save’ button, he or she will be given a unique application number. Step 8: Applicants must then download the completed application form. Step 9: Finally, the individual can drop off the form at his or her nearest CSC office or a financial institution that offers PMAY. Along with the form, he or she must submit all necessary documents. Individuals can also apply for the scheme in person at an authorised bank branch if the online process is inconvenient for them.
